About the Department for Correctional Services

The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. • Port Augusta Prison:2,000m² complex + 1-hectare garden
• Port Lincoln Prison:150 hectares of farmland
• Adelaide Women's Prison:1,500m² industry workshop
• Adelaide Pre-Release Centre: Market garden and greenhouse
• Cadell Training Centre: Dairy and orchard operations

A Role with Real Impact

You'll:

• Mentor and train prisoners in meaningful industry roles
• Help prisoners work toward trade qualifications (e.g. Cert III in Engineering, Cert II in Civil Construction)
• Support rehabilitation, pride in work, and community reintegration

Mobilong Prison

Mobilong Prison (MOB) is an open campus-style prison located near Murray Bridge.

It accommodates male medium and low security prisoners.

What We Offer

• $68,413 – $74,445 base (CO3) + allowances and penalties (up to $80k p.a.) + superannuation
• Correctional Industry and Vocational Training Allowance(after 12 months)
• Four weeks annual leave

• No prior correctional experience required
• Fully paid 12-week induction + Certificate III in Correctional Practice

What You'll Need

• A relevant trade qualification, industry-recognised certification, or 3+ years experience
• Current SA Driver's Licence
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
• Be aged 18+
• Ability to pass a National Criminal History Check
• Flexibility to work a 7-day roster (averaging 38 hrs/week)
