Madson Mining Maintenance is a Mining Maintenance Contracting Company based in Port Hedland assisting our Clients in maintaining Ship Loading and Stock yard equipment and infrastructure. The bulk of our work consists of providing Shift Coverage / Back Fill Labour, Shut Down Crews, Fabrication and Welding, and Machining. Our main Client base is Pilbara Ports Authority, Fortescue Metals Group, BHP and QUBE, along with some smaller local companies.

With a workforce made up of Fitters, Boiler Maker Welders, Trade Assistants and Apprentices, currently we have 35 employees who either live here in Port Hedland or are employed on a FIFO basis.

We are currently looking for applications of interest for Boilermakers to work in Port Hedland carrying out work on fabrication, projects, shutdowns, and fixed plant maintenance.

The following long term opportunities are on offer:

  • FIFO -  12 days on / 9 days off  - ex. Perth
  • FIFO -  19 days on / 9 days off - ex. Perth
  • Port Hedland residential - Preferred

Your role will include:

  • Light to heavy fabrication
  • Mild Steel, Aluminium and Stainless Fabrication
  • Pipe Work
  • Shut Down Labour
  • Project Labour
  • Fixed Plant Maintenance

To be considered for one of the above opportunities, you will need to have:

  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test as well as random drug and alcohol
  • Ability to pass pre-employment police check
  • Current High Risk licences including Working at Heights, Confined Space, Forklift, EWP
  • Current C-Class Drivers Licence (Essential)
  • Relevant experience in MMAW, FCAW and GTAW processes
  • Ability to pass a basic pre-employment weld test including 3f and 4f positions in MMAW and GMAW
  • Experience in aluminium fabrication (preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to Interoperate and follow workshop drawings

You must also be able to pass a police clearance check to obtain a MSIC card.

An attractive hourly rate will be offered to the successful candidates ($ $67.00 ph + Super on all hours worked) based on experience. You will also have the use of a work vehicle for work and use around Port Hedland, as well as single person housing supplied with all amenities.
