Senior Accountant/Financial Controller

Our growth has created the need to have a more robust internal accounting function.

Your duties include:

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Partnering with project managers to ensure accurate cost tracking and financial planning.

  • Preparing an annual budget

  • Provide updated cashflow forecasting on a regular basis.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Preparing monthly management reports with variance analysis.

  • Lead and develop the finance team.

  • Prepare monthly management and project reports, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, WIP, and project-specific reporting.

  • Develop KPI reporting, analyse variances, and provide actionable financial insights to senior leadership.

Project Reviews

  • Conducting financial reviews of construction projects to assess profitability and performance.

Tax Compliance

  • Managing BAS, PAYG, payroll tax and other statutory obligations.

  • Supporting year-end tax planning and liaising with external tax advisors.

About You

We're looking for a confident and capable finance professional who brings both technical expertise and a collaborative mindset. Ideally, you will have:

  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

  • CPA or CA qualification (or working towards)

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within construction or project-based industries

  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

  • Proficiency in Xero or other accounting software and Excel; experience with Quantify or similar systems is a plus
