Dental Assistant

About the role

After 23 years of dedicated service, my trusted assistant is retiring — creating a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified Dental Assistant to step into some big shoes and join our supportive team.

You will primarily support the principal dentist in a variety of procedures, providing chairside assistance and clinical support, whilst continuing to ensure our patients feel comfortable, informed, and nurtured.

This is a full-time position working 4-5 days in a modern, state-of-the-art facility as part of a dedicated and passionate team.

What you'll be doing

• Provide chairside assistance during general dental procedures.
• Prepare, maintain, and sterilise instruments and equipment in line with infection control standards.
• Staying up-to-date with new dental techniques, materials, and equipment
• Support dentists and therapists in delivering patient-centred care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
• Communicate with patients professionally, compassionately, and confidently.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and inspiring practice culture.
• Assist with practice administration as needed including appointment scheduling, patient correspondence, accounts, stock control and ordering.

What we're looking for

• Formal qualification as a Dental Assistant, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Organised, reliable, and strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and team members
• A team player with a positive, compassionate, and professional approach seeking a long-term role
• Familiarity & proficiency with modern dental software (D4W) and digital imaging systems, with a willingness to learn new systems
