The Opportunity

We have a unique opportunity for a Metallurgy Superintendent to join our Duketon Operations. The Metallurgy Superintendent leads our processing plant Metallurgical and Laboratory departments to achieve planned gold production and quality outcomes. Our ideal candidate will have significant practical experience in plant operations, with process control systems and strong leadership experience.

This is a site-based role, working on an 8:6 FIFO roster (ex-Perth).

About the Role

Take ownership of personal safety and that of colleagues through a proactive approach towards behavioural safety, hazard identification and risk management.

Fulfil all statutory responsibilities in accordance with applicable legislation and regulations in accordance with Mining, Occupational Safety and Health, and other applicable regulations

Lead and influence the metallurgical and laboratory teams to ensure the business's requirements and quality are met safely.

Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reports/presentations on metallurgy activities as required.

Be involved in the capital budgeting process and complete capital projects assigned to your work group within budget and time frames provided.

Identify maintenance requirements or process requirements to positively impact metallurgical performance.

Identify and communicate any underperformance of equipment that impacts metallurgical performance and take accountability to resolve to satisfaction.

Identify and communicate any deviation of operating parameters that impacts metallurgical performance negatively to the Process Superintendent and take accountability to have it resolved to satisfaction.

Monitor the performance of plant metallurgical and process control systems and initiate remedial action as required.

Coordinate implementation of new process systems and equipment, and upgrades to existing systems.

Prepare month end metallurgical and mid-month GIC balances and communicate information.

Monitor plant performance indicators, plant production quantity and quality against plan and report significant variances to the Manager Process Operations.

Participate in the preparation of business plans, operating and capital budgets and reports.

Skills and Experiences:

About You

• Degree in Metallurgy, or in Chemical or Process engineering.
• A high-performer.
• A proven leader of teams - strong leadership track record required.
• Significant practical experience in plant operations and with process control systems.
• +5-8 years in a Metallurgical Superintendent role.
• Strong communication skills, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset and ability to devise proactive solutions.
• Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for process improvement and problem-solving.
• S26 Certification
• Current WA class C manual driver's licence.
