The Role

As a Volunteer AI Software Engineer (JavaScript) you'll help turn AI ideas into polished, real-world browser extensions.

Time commitment: ~5–8 hrs/week (flexible)

Compensation: Volunteer (unpaid) — perfect for portfolio building, résumé sparkle, and joining a passionate founder-led team.

What You'll Do
  • Prototype & ship core extension features in JS/TS using the WebExtensions API.
  • Integrate LLM calls for intelligent form-filling, summarisation, and decision-making logic.
  • Design data flows with our Firestore service layer (no direct SDK calls) to store user preferences.
  • Collaborate in GitHub issues/PRs with UX, prompt-engineering, and testing volunteers.
  • Champion privacy & performance, keeping the add-on lightweight and secure.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills and clean coding habits.
  • Experience (or serious curiosity) with browser extension development.
  • Familiarity with OpenAI APIs or other LLM providers.
  • Comfort with Git workflows, async communication, and agile iterations.
  • Bonus: Firebase/Firestore know-how, automated testing, or UI/UX flair.
