Cafe Supervisor

Exeter General Store is a bustling destination & neighbourhood cafe in the beautiful village of Exeter in the Southern Highlands. We are passionate about serving consistently delicious coffee and meals, paired with true hospitality from our team.

We offer team members an organised and positive place to work. You will be joining a well-established, collaborative environment and be able to develop long-term relationships with a community of regular customers.

We are looking for an experienced barista and confident communicator to lead daily cafe operation. In this hands-on role you will be captain of the team on shift:

• leading by example as a skilled barista/all-rounder
• coordinating a team of up to 10 on-shift
• leading the team to deliver a consistently great customer experience and outstanding coffee & food using established systems and proactive communication
• opening/closing the store including reconciliation, daily reporting and administration
• training other team members, providing guidance and troubleshooting to run a safe and smooth service
• working closely with hands-on owner/managers to improve the guest and team experience

You may be an experienced specialty barista who is ready to take the next step in your hospitality career, or an experienced front-line leader looking for a fun team environment and keen to develop your skills further.

You will receive comprehensive training, coaching and support to help you grow. You will also be trained in our Licensed Post Office, which operates as part of the store and the one team.

We are able to accommodate full-time or part-time, with flexibility in hours per week depending on your needs. As a permanent role, you will have paid annual leave (with additional leave loading), paid personal leave and guaranteed hours. Rosters are consistent and published well in-advance. Weekend availability is needed, but a rotating roster can be provided. No nights. Typical shift hours are 7am - 3.45pm.
