We're recruiting on behalf of a highly respected and long-standing accounting firm in Kempsey. As the business continues to grow, we're seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant & Client Services Officer to become an integral part of their friendly and collaborative team.

This role is perfect for someone with bookkeeping experience who enjoys being the "go-to" support person - helping clients, supporting accountants, and keeping things running smoothly.


What You'll Do

Prepare individual and small business tax returns

Complete BAS/IAS and reconcile accounts with accuracy and care

Assist accountants with year-end workpapers and client file setup

Manage payroll and bookkeeping tasks for SME clients

Provide client service and reception coverage (lunch + 4–5pm daily, and during leave/absence)

Assist with ASIC annual statements, company record updates, and compliance administration

Support day-to-day office operations: filing, mail, scanning & document management


What You'll Bring


• 3–5 years practical bookkeeping experience

• Skills in BAS, payroll and reconciliations

• Exposure to individual tax return preparation

• A professional, friendly manner in person and on the phone

• Strong attention to detail with great organisational skills

• A willingness to pitch in and help wherever needed
