The Production Technician plays a key role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of the Kunwarara production plant.  Reporting to the Process Superintendent, this role is primarily responsible for responding to daily production-related breakdowns to minimise downtime and maximise plant availability. This position is a 12-month fixed term contract with travel provided to and from the operations.

The Role

The Production Technician will assist with tasks across a range of production equipment, including side skirts, rollers, screens, pipework, and other essential process plant infrastructure.  While working closely with the production team, the Production Technician ensures that urgent tasks are prioritized and completed promptly, without being diverted by competing operational demands.  At times, the Production Technician may also be required to assist the production team directly within the plant to support operational continuity.  This role is critical to sustaining continuous production, improving equipment reliability, and contributing to a safe, productive, and cost-effective operating environment.

The Requirements

We are looking for people with the following:

• Demonstrated experience working in a production or processing plant environment
• Familiarity with plant equipment such as conveyors, screens, rollers, and pipework
• Ability to identify and respond to breakdowns and operational issues in a timely manner
• Strong awareness of safety procedures and risk management practices
• Ability to follow instructions and prioritize tasks under direction
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks in a production setting
• Willingness to assist the production team in plant operations when required
• Flexibility to work across shifts as needed
