Job Summary
In this role you'll partner with senior leaders to deliver strategic HR solutions and lead change initiatives. You'll drive culture and engagement programs, support workforce development and transformation, and help build high-performing teams across Victoria University.

About the Team
The People and Culture Portfolio provide integrated HR advice and support across all areas of the University. Working closely with our clients, we deliver strategically aligned workforce solutions in areas including change management, diversity and inclusion, organisational development, health and safety, industrial and employee relations, remuneration and benefits, and recruitment. Our focus is on building organisational capability and enabling VU to deliver on its strategic agenda.
About the Role
As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing strategic and tactical HR advice. You will lead change initiatives, coach leaders, and deliver contemporary people solutions that drive engagement and build high-performing teams. This role offers the opportunity to influence organisational culture and contribute to meaningful, high-impact work.
Position Key Duties
- Provide strategic HR advice to senior leaders and contribute to VU's People Plan
- Lead and champion organisational change initiatives
- Coach leaders on workforce planning, talent management, and organisational design
- Collaborate with People & Culture teams to deliver integrated HR solutions
- Manage complex projects and prepare high-level reports for governance committees
- Drive engagement programs and initiatives across the employee lifecycle
- Act as a conduit between stakeholders and Centres of Excellence to inform program design
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and University policies
Salary: HEP 10 - $142,441 Plus 17% Super
Employment Type: Full Time - 14 Month Fixed Term - Parental Leave Cover
Hours: 36.75

About You:
You are a seasoned HR professional with:
- Postgraduate qualifications in HR or psychology and extensive relevant experience
- Proven expertise in partnering with senior leaders to design and implement HR strategies
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and contemporary HR practices
- Exceptional communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills
- Experience leading organisational change and delivering strategic workforce solutions
The University is a Child Safe organisation. You will be required to hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or be willing to obtain one prior to commencing employment.
