At Holiday Inn Express Melbourne Southbank, we deliver smart, simple stays for our guests, and you'll play a key part in making that happen. As our hotel's Handyperson, you'll help maintain the building, grounds, and equipment to ensure everything looks great and works perfectly for our guests and team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Hotel Manager, this full-time role is responsible for carrying out general maintenance and repairs across guest rooms, public areas, and hotel facilities. From patching walls and painting to basic plumbing, lighting, and furniture fixes, no two days are the same

You'll also help ensure compliance with safety standards, support preventative maintenance programs, and respond promptly to guest requests.

What You'll Do
  • Carry out minor repairs including painting, patching, replacing light bulbs, and basic maintenance
  • Complete guest maintenance requests efficiently and professionally
  • Conduct regular room and public area checks to maintain high standards
  • Support our team in keeping the hotel clean, safe, and running smoothly
  • Coordinate with external trades when needed
  • Follow all safety, emergency, and IHG brand standards
About You
  • Experience in general property maintenance or handyperson duties
  • A can-do attitude with great attention to detail
  • Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks (lifting, bending, ladder work)
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible to work different shifts as required
