Position: Nurse Practitioner – Medicinal Cannabis | Flexible | High-earning role
Organisation: CanMed Clinics.
Employment Type: Full-time (minimum 2 days per week) / Flexible Telehealth Model
Location: Remote / Telehealth (Australia-wide) + optional clinic days at West Lakes, SA

Key Responsibilities
- Patient consultations via telehealth/ in-clinic to assess eligibility for medicinal cannabis therapy.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director if needed towards issuing prescriptions for medicinal cannabis.
- Ensure all compliance as per relevant Federal/state/territory regulations (Schedule 8, unapproved therapeutic goods, etc).
- Provide patient education, counselling, and monitoring of medicinal cannabis therapy.
- Stay current with industry best practice: new medicinal cannabis research, regulatory updates, therapy protocols.
- Work collaboratively across a multidisciplinary team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Endorsed Nurse Practitioner registration with AHPRA/Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) — unconditional registration.
- Demonstrated knowledge or willingness to learn medicinal cannabis regulatory pathways (TGA SAS AP, state poisons law) and prescribing of Schedule 8/unapproved therapeutic goods.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, documentation, and patient-education capabilities.
- Flexibility to commit at least 2 days/week to the role (with full-time option for the right candidate) and adaptability to evolving telehealth/clinic model.
Desirable (but not mandatory)
- Prior experience in medicinal cannabis prescribing/consultation.
