The Role
As a Best & Less Garment Technician you will be responsible for defining, maintaining and upholding internal and external standards to ensure our customers receive the best possible experience with us.
Your day as a Garment Technician / QA Specialist:
- Defining, maintaining, and upholding all product specifications.
- Creating new specifications based on trend directives from the buying team.
- Driving effective and timely product review/fit sessions by guiding the buying team on the changes required to the fit ensuring commercial execution.
- Communicating QA comments to suppliers in a timely manner in line with critical path lead time.
- Reviewing competition seasonally to ensure market awareness and making recommendations on any action needed.
- Maintaining PLM with relevant documentation.
- Providing technical and quality guidance to the buying team.
- Undertaking in-store QA checks with issues highlighted back to the QA Manager/Head of Product/Buyers/Suppliers.
- Approving or recommending corrective action for pre-shipment inspections.
- Ensuring testing requirements are submitted and approved in line with Best&Less manual requirements, resolving any issues prior to shipping.
- Building and maintaining effective and professional relationships with other team members and suppliers.
- Managing all store-related queries for relevant departments to prompt resolution.
- Adhering to existing processes and implementing new processes in line with business needs and changes.
- Supporting colleagues in other departments pending workload.

- Understanding of Fit
- Knowledge of pattern amendments
- Knowledge of garment construction and product testing requirements.
- Ability to work across multiple product areas with many stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Exceptional organisation skills and attention to detail.

- Pattern Making
- Fabric construction
- Compliance/ Knowledge of AUS standards
- Textiles/ Fashion/ Pattern making Degree or equivalent
