About Us

Cumberland View Retirement Village and Residential Aged Care located in Wheelers Hill is currently seeking an enthusiastic, committed and customer service focused Bus Driver to join their team on a Casual or permanent part time basis. As the bus driver you will provide a support service that enhances our resident's wellbeing in the Retirement Village and the co-located Residential Aged Care Home.

The role involves working up to five days a week, with shifts ranging from 3 to 6 hours per day. Work hours will be scheduled during the daytime, Monday to Friday, primarily serving the Retirement Village community.

In this role you will be:

  • Providing safe transportation of our Retirement Village and Residential Aged Care residents to local shopping centres and planned outings to entertainment and recreational venues, and return them at the end of their outing
  • Driving an 18 seat manual bus and ensuring the safety of our residents during their journey
  • Building strong relationships within the Retirement Village and Residential Aged Care communities at Cumberland View
  • Basic administration including maintenance and logbook documentation
  • Providing enjoyable transit experiences which enable our residents to thrive

About you

As you will be working alongside our many residents, a customer-service focus is essential, as will:

  • A current Victorian Heavy Vehicle Licence (or above)
  • Experience driving a manual bus
  • Experience working with elderly people, and the awareness of mobility/health and safety issues that may occur (highly desirable)
  • Team-focused, with willingness to perform other ad-hoc duties when required
  • Knowledge of Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne preferred
  • Ability to support the related activities of vehicle maintenance of ensuring routine scheduled services are maintained including drop off and pick up of the bus for maintenance when required
  • Flexibility to take up additional shifts at short notice to cover personal leave and also planned annual leave
  • A genuine interest in assisting the elderly
