Who are we:

Eat Love Live is a dynamic and inclusive organization with values based in social justice. We are a team of health professionals providing support to a wide range of people, for a wide range of conditions; specializing in mental health and eating disorders. Eat Love Live is a privately owned company based on a fee for service model. Many of our clients hold marginalized identities and show tremendous courage to seek support having previously had invalidating and harmful experiences in the health care system.

We aim to provide a validating experience for all clients, be truly client centered and collaborative.  We are fat positive, gender affirming and neurodivergent affirming in our approach and clinically we work from a weight inclusive, HAES informed framework.

Our practice is grounded in systemic thinking and family/support-inclusive approaches. We support individuals and families of all constellations and variations) across all stages of life, recognising that meaningful recovery from eating disorders occurs when the whole system around the person is engaged and supported.

We are based in Collingwood. Our team is based in the office providing face to face support and across Australia providing telehealth support.

We are looking for an experienced Eating Disorder Credentialed Clinical Psychologist; or specialised Occupational Therapist or social worker eligible for clients to claim under the Medicare Eating Disorders care plan,  to join our team. This is a contract role with a minimum of 2 days engagement. There is flexibility to set your own days, work hours and day structure; the autonomy of working under your own ABN and Medicare provider number and the connection and support of a like minded team.

We are open to expressions of interest from Specialist social work and occupational therapists also who are able to support clients under the Medicare Eating Disorder Care plans.

Who are we looking for:

We are seeking applicants whose own values strongly align with Eat Love Live's. We welcome applicants with extensive experience of supporting individuals with disordered eating and eating disorders across the age spectrum.

We welcome experience supporting clients from a range of diverse and marginalized backgrounds such as the LGBTQIA+ communities, Neurodiverse, higher weight bodied, BIPOC among others.

Training in evidence based eating disorder treatment including, but not limited to, the below list  is essential as is the professional experience underpinning clinician confidence to pivot in response to the individual formulation.

Evidence based Eating Disorder Psychological interventions:

(a)   family-based treatment (including whole family, parent based therapy, parent only or separated therapy)

(b) adolescent focused therapy;

(c) cognitive behavioural therapy;

(d) cognitive behavioural therapy-anorexia nervosa;

(e)  cognitive behavioural therapy for bulimia nervosa and binge-eating disorder;

(f)  specialist supportive clinical management;

(g) maudsley model of anorexia treatment in adults;

(h) interpersonal therapy for bulimia nervosa and binge-eating disorder;

(i)   dialectical behavioural therapy for bulimia nervosa and binge-eating disorder;

(j)   focal psychodynamic therapy.

About the Role

We are looking for a contracted, part time Clinical Psychologist (Registered Psychologists welcome to apply) Specialised occupation therapist or Social worker. This role will be a mixed face to face and telehealth role based in our Collingwood office.  Full reception support will be provided and access to the clinical manager via phone, email and video conference, for case based support. Candidates must have significant experience in supporting clients in eating disorders and training in eating disorder psychological care care. Eligibility for Eating Disorder clinician credential is essential.

Some internal support is available for clinicians within the Eat Love Live team. External supervision is a requirement of the position.

Essential Criteria

  • AHPRA Registration Full, unrestricted registration as a Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA. Demonstrated adherence to professional, legal, and ethical standards in clinical practice.
  • Eligibility for Eating Disorder Credential Must meet the criteria for, or currently hold, the ANZAED Eating Disorder Credential. Demonstrated training and experience in evidence-based eating disorder interventions such as CBT-E, FBT, SSCM, or ACT for eating disorders.
  • Significant Experience in Eating Disorder Care Proven experience providing psychological support to individuals with eating disorders and related mental health presentations across the lifespan. Open to psychologists setting their own age limits of who they prefer to see.( Please note that Eat Love Live provides support to clients 1 year and above).  Capacity to work flexibly and adapt treatment to meet diverse client needs and presentations.
  • Commitment to HAES, Weight-Inclusive and Social Justice-Oriented PracticeStrong understanding of, and commitment to, weight-inclusive, trauma-informed, gender-affirming, neurodivergent-affirming, and culturally safe approaches. Alignment with Eat Love Live's values and dedication to working with marginalized communities within the private sector.
  • Regular Clinical SupervisionCommitment to ongoing professional development and engagement in regular supervision with a qualified and experienced eating disorder or mental health supervisor external of Eat Love Live.
  • Highly Developed Counselling and Clinical SkillsDemonstrated ability to build safe, collaborative, and validating therapeutic relationships. Skilled in assessment, formulation, intervention, and evaluation of outcomes within evidence-based frameworks.
  • Strong Communication and Collaboration SkillsExcellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to provide clear and timely feedback to referring doctors and multidisciplinary teams. Able to document sessions accurately and maintain high clinical standards.

  • Ability to Work as Part of a Multidisciplinary Team

Demonstrated experience respecting and embracing the varied roles of the multi disciplinary care team. Including working collaboratively with dietitians, GPs, psychiatrists, and other allied health professionals to deliver integrated, person-centered care. Values communication, respect, and teamwork to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

  • Organizational and Time Management SkillsDemonstrated ability to manage clinical load, maintain timely notes, and meet professional and administrative deadlines while working autonomously in a private practice environment.
  • Technological CompetenceProficiency in using digital practice management systems (Cliniko), secure telehealth platforms, and Microsoft Office or equivalent. Must have access to a reliable computer and internet connection for telehealth work when appropriate to work from home.
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance and Required ClearancesCurrent Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance, Working with Children Check, and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).

  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams or private practice settings.
