About the role

As a passionate and results-driven Area Manager you will be leading our team across Launceston. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the successful delivery of the Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) contract, ensuring compliance, quality outcomes, and a positive experience for both participants and employers.

You will manage a team of dedicated employment consultants and support staff, drive performance against KPIs, and build strong relationships with stakeholders to create sustainable employment opportunities for people with disability.

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team to achieve contract outcomes.
  • Drive operational excellence and ensure compliance with IEA contract requirements.
  • Understand the labour market, resourcing needs and constraints of employers and devise solutions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers, community organisations, and other stakeholders to promote inclusive employment.
  • Monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies for success.
  • Be a thought leader in diversity and inclusion initiatives and effectively articulate to employers and partners the value proposition, benefits and incentives of employing program participants
  • Foster a positive, inclusive culture aligned with Interact Australia's values.
  • Represent Interact Australia in regional forums and stakeholder meetings.

About You

You are a proactive and strategic leader who thrives in a fast-paced, outcomes-focused environment. Your strong leadership style inspires teams to achieve their best, while your operational know-how ensures contracts are delivered to the highest standard. You balance compliance with innovation, always looking for ways to improve service delivery.

To succeed in this role, you will be confident in:

  • Team Leadership & Development – training, coaching, and mentoring staff to build a high-performing culture focused on client success.
  • Operational Oversight – managing day-to-day service delivery, ensuring adherence to funding body guidelines, and implementing processes that improve efficiency and quality.
  • Performance Management – setting clear expectations, monitoring KPIs, and using data-driven insights to identify areas for growth and implement corrective actions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – building meaningful relationships with local employers, community organisations, and industry networks to create inclusive employment pathways.
  • Participant Advocacy – ensuring participants receive high-quality, person-centred support that empowers them to achieve sustainable employment outcomes.
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making – responding to challenges with sound judgment, creativity, and a solutions-focused approach.
  • Change Management – driving new initiatives and adapting to evolving contract requirements while keeping the team aligned and motivated.

Candidates with relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience within the Employment Services, Training, Rehabilitation, or Community Services or a similar type sector are highly desirable
