About the role
We're excited to welcome an enthusiastic and customer-oriented Sales Assistant to our team at Stihl Shop Prospect. In this role, you'll play an essential part in delivering outstanding customer service and boosting sales of our premium range of lawn mowers and outdoor power equipment. You'll have the chance to engage with customers, provide expert advice, and help them find the right tools for their needs. This part-time/full-time position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your sales skills, gain valuable product knowledge, and grow within a supportive, collaborative team environment. Ideally, the right candidate would also be able to support customers by inspecting their outdoor power equipment and discussing any repair needs or concerns they may have. If you're passionate about delivering exceptional service, have prior knowledge of outdoor power equipment and eager to contribute to a thriving business, we'd love to hear from you
What you'll be doing
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting, assisting, and offering expert advice on our range of outdoor power equipment, including lawn mowers, chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, and more.
- Actively drive sales by understanding customer needs, recommending suitable products, and upselling related accessories and services.
- Assist customers with product selection, demonstrations, and troubleshooting.
- Handle transactions accurately and efficiently at the point of sale.
- Maintain and restock product displays to ensure an organised and visually appealing store.
- Assist with the repair and service bookings, ensuring customers' equipment is processed promptly and efficiently.
- Provide information about ongoing promotions, repair services, and product warranties.
What we're looking for
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for helping customers.
- Previous retail or customer service experience, ideally in outdoor power equipment or related industries (e.g., gardening, home improvement, automotive).
- Ability to learn and retain product knowledge quickly.
- Basic understanding of outdoor power equipment and/or repair services is a huge bonus but not essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work a range of hours between 8:00am-5:00pm Monday - Friday and 9:00am-1:00pm Saturday, as required.
