About the role
We are seeking a part-time Master V to join our team at Passions of Paradise in Cairns. As Master V, you will be responsible for the safe navigation and operation of our boats, ensuring a fantastic experience for our guests. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the beautiful setting of the Great Barrier Reef.
What you'll be doing
- Safely navigate and operate our vessels in accordance with all relevant maritime regulations and company policies
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the crew to deliver a high-quality, seamless experience for our guests
- Ensure the proper maintenance and upkeep of the boats and associated equipment
- Provide exceptional customer service and respond to any guest enquiries or concerns
- Assist with the loading and unloading of guests, equipment and supplies
- Complete all necessary documentation and reporting as required
What we're looking for
- Holds a valid Master V certificate
- Holds a valid Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 certificate
- Experience operating within the GBR locally, out of Cairns preferred
- Proven track record of safely operating vessels and managing crew
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to deliver an exceptional guest experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Commitment to safety and a strong safety-first mindset
