What's the role?
We're looking for a Senior Credit Manager to join our Property Credit team supporting business lending across Westpac and its brands. This role is about proactively leading your Team and actively decisioning credit submissions. You'll assess and approve property lending transactions, structure deals, and ensure credit decisions align with our policies, risk appetite, and regulatory standards.

You'll work closely with frontline bankers including Regional General Managers, product partners and senior stakeholders to provide sound credit advice, monitor portfolio health, and support strategic approvals. If you enjoy combining analytical rigour with commercial insight, this is a great opportunity to make an impact.

This is a permanent fulltime role based in Melbourne with flexible working arrangements.

What do I need?
We're after someone who knows property lending inside out and can make confident, well-informed credit decisions. Here's what will help you succeed:

  • Experience approving property credit transactions (5+ years)
  • Previous People Leadership is preferred but not essential
  • Strong banking and financial services background
  • Commercial mindset and sound business acumen
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Passion for supporting property clients - investors, developers, and owner-builders
