Medical Receptionist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Medical Receptionist to join our dedicated team at Wellcare Medical Centre Kingston in Kingston, QLD. This is a FT/PT role that will see you play a vital part in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our busy medical practice.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting and welcoming patients, and managing patient flow and appointment scheduling
• Answering incoming calls and handling patient enquiries and requests in a professional and compassionate manner
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and ensuring all documentation is properly filed
• Assisting with the administrative duties of the practice, including processing payments, ordering supplies, and providing general office support
• Working closely with the clinical team to coordinate patient care and liaise with other healthcare providers as needed
• Ensuring a high level of customer service and contributing to a positive patient experience
• Processing Medicare ,Work Cover , Private payments
• Clearing Debtor lists and all unpaid invoices
• setting up sessions and users in Best Practice
• Effective booking of Doctors and Allied Health
• actioning with recalls and reminders
• Familiar with using PENCAT , Primary sense , Cubiko and create financial and Benchmarking reports.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar customer service role within a healthcare setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals in a warm and professional manner
• Strong organisational and multi-tasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritise tasks and work efficiently under pressure
• Proficient in using medical practice management software and general office software (e.g. Microsoft Office)
• A friendly, empathetic, and customer-focused approach, with a genuine interest in providing high-quality patient care
• A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding patient privacy
