About the Psychology Department

The Psychology Department is committed to promoting the highest levels of care for our patients. As a team based in General Health, we work with a range of medical specialists and allied health professionals in multidisciplinary teams across the hospital where our neuropsychology services are highly valued.

The Department leads and excels in research, teaching and the use of person-centred evidence-based practice. We provide services across the three main hospital sites and the full spectrum of care from acute inpatients to community settings.

About the role

This exciting two-year Clinical Neuropsychology Registrar program offers a unique opportunity to acquire skills and experience in a wide variety of clinical presentations and gain Endorsement as a Clinical Neuropsychologist. Your supervision team consists of an expert and supportive team of Senior Clinical Neuropsychologists, including a dedicated Clinical Neuropsychology Educator.

You will rotate through a number of services, for example, acute inpatient, outpatient, subacute and rehabilitation settings and specialist services including neurology, neurosurgery, epilepsy, general medical and surgical units, aged-care, mental health and acquired brain injury.

Registrars are provided with:

  • Individual clinical supervision
  • Peer group supervision tailored to early career development across clinical, professional & wellbeing domains
  • Regular high-quality learning and connection opportunities with other psychologists and allied health professionals.

This 2-year part-time, fixed term position is 19 hours (2.5 days) per week until January 2028.

About you

To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:

  • A Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical Neuropsychology and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Eligibility to commence, or have commenced, a Registrar program for Endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology
  • An interest in gaining experience working in a hospital setting across a range of different clinical areas
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills
