What we are looking for

We are seeking an experienced Mechanic to ensure all plant, vehicles and equipment is serviced and maintained to maximise efficiency and reduce downtime of plant through both preventative and reactive maintenance.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with an ever-changing dynamic team within the Mid-Western Regional Council.

This role is full-time, based on site in Mudgee working a 9-day fortnight.

The salary range being offered for this full-time position is $3, $3,653.50 gross per fortnight plus superannuation and allowances which equates to an annual salary of $84, $94,991 gross plus superannuation (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience).

Key Accountabilities

  • To achieve scheduled servicing requirements, repairs and maintenance to Council plant, vehicles
    and equipment in accordance with manufacturers specifications. Industry standards and safe work
    method statements.
  • To provide on the job training of apprentice plant mechanics to assist their understanding and
    development and to facilitate their achievement of trade qualifications.
  • To ensure that the schedule of annual RTA inspections and RFS servicing is undertaken giving
    consideration to WHS issues, operational needs and maintenance requirements.
  • To provide technical advice, when required, on the specifications for plant acquisitions giving
    consideration to WH&S issues, operational needs and maintenance requirements.
  • To actively promote and demonstrate the core values and behavioural requirements of the
    Workplace Environment Statement.
