We are currently seeking a dedicated and astute Accountant to join our team and contribute to our continued success.
Position Overview:
As an Accountant at Simaco Partners Pty Ltd, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing our accounting functions. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, managing complex accounting tasks under supervision, and providing insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a a suitable level of competence, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in formulating budgetary and accounting policies.
- Assisting in preparing financial statements for presentation to clients and relevant stakeholders.
- Examining operating costs and organisations' income and expenditure.
- Preparing documents that support financial and taxation advice to clients on business structures, plans and operations.
- Preparing tax returns for individuals and organisations (including companies, SMSF, partnerships and trusts for example).
- Liaising with financial institutions and brokers to establish funds management arrangements.
- Introducing and maintaining accounting systems for clients, and advising on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems.
- Maintaining internal control systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (eligibility to start studying for CA at least preferred if not commenced / nearing commencement).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting, with a proven track record in a senior or supervisory role.
- Reasonable knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software programs such as Xero, BGL, MYOB and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
