About the Opportunity

An established and rapidly growing Australian food manufacturer and distributor (name withheld for commercial reasons) is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to help unlock insights across pricing, supply chain, and operational performance.

You'll be working directly with senior executives to shape strategy, improve margins, and drive innovation in one of the country's most respected food groups.

In This Role, You Will
  • Partner with finance, operations and sales leaders to uncover opportunities for data-driven decision-making.
  • Analyse large, complex datasets to identify trends, root causes, and actionable insights that directly influence business outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines for cleaning, integrating, and transforming diverse internal and external data sources.
  • Design predictive and optimisation models (e.g. pricing, range, and logistics efficiency).
  • Build intuitive dashboards and visualisations that empower stakeholders with real-time performance metrics.
  • Apply advanced statistical and machine-learning techniques to improve forecasting accuracy and resource allocation.
You're a Great Fit If You Have
  • Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or another quantitative discipline.
  • 3–5 years' experience in a data science, analytics, or business intelligence role.
  • Hands-on experience with R for modelling and automation.
  • Proficiency in SQL for large-scale data extraction and transformation.
  • Strong Power BI capability (DAX, Power Query, Power Pivot).
  • Familiarity with Azure, AWS Redshift or similar cloud data environments.
  • Exposure to FMCG, manufacturing, or logistics environments highly regarded.
