Murex Analyst

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Murex Batch Support Analyst to join our team in Sydney. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support, monitoring, and troubleshooting for Murex batch processes used in our financial trading and risk management environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Murex platform operations, batch processing, and infrastructure support in a banking or financial services setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and support daily Murex batch jobs to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Investigate and resolve batch failures, ensuring minimal disruption to trading and risk management activities.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Murex processes.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures for recurring issues.
• Maintain and optimize batch job scripts and configurations.
• Assist in deploying and testing system upgrades, patches, and configurations.
• Ensure compliance with organizational IT and security standards.
• Document support procedures, issues, and resolutions accurately.
• Provide on-call support outside regular working hours as needed.

Technical Skills & Requirements:

• Proven experience supporting Murex platforms, particularly batch processing and infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of UNIX/Linux scripting and scheduling tools (e.g., cron, Control-M, Tidal, IKSAN,cronacle).
• Knowledge of SQL and database management in support of Murex systems.
• Familiarity with financial products, trading operations, and MLC risk management processes.
• Experience with troubleshooting system and application issues in a banking or financial services environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Relevant certifications or prior experience working with Murex platform/EOD support is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in a support role within banking or financial services is preferred.
