Responsibilities:

Technician carries out a range of duties relating to the diagnosis, service and/or repairs of vehicles, including:

o Conducting vehicle diagnostics, service, and repairs

o Carry out initial and regular inspections to assess operating tyre conditions, pressure maintenance, inspections and wheel changes as required.

o Hands on vehicle servicing and repairs

  • Providing expert advice in relation to current mechanical condition of vehicles
  • Taking all necessary steps to diagnose and ensure the correct operation of vehicles.
  • Adhering to checklists and quality control standards
  • Fitting new or repaired parts
  • Repairing the mechanical parts of the motor vehicle
  • Reporting all necessary work, service, or repairs.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment through ensuring the correct operation of all tools and specialised equipment.

Skills and Experience

  • Must have at least 5 to 8 years' experience in the industry
  • Relevant Trade Qualification
  • Must have strong customer service skills.
  • Repair and maintain all truck, trailer and tanker fleet
  • Basic welding and electrical skills
  • Experience with Cummins insite a bonus
  • Experience with hydraulic systems or agitators a bonus but not essential
  • Experience in the medium to heavy vehicle road transport industry
