UGL is searching for an experienced and motivated Tank Turnaround Superintendent to lead the execution of a tank maintenance and turnaround program at a key fuel terminal in Kwinana. This full-time position offers a great opportunity to collaborate with a high-performing team while being at the forefront of operational excellence.

As a key member of the site leadership team, you will manage the safe and efficient execution of tank maintenance and turnarounds (TAR), ensuring all works meet safety standards, quality specifications, and turnaround schedules.

About the Role

Your primary focus will be overseeing field operations during the turnaround phase. Working closely with UGL teams, subcontractors, and client representatives, you'll drive success for all aspects of the tank maintenance and TAR program. You'll take an active role in stakeholder management, safety, quality assurance, and cost and schedule performance.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Manage all activities related to the successful execution of tank turnarounds work scopes.
  • Promote Safety Leadership and the UGL ONE HSE Culture.
  • Champion a solution focused, high performing team culture underpinned by respect, ownership and accountability.
  • Provide constructability input to estimates, schedules and work pack development.
  • Manage resources to safely and efficiently achieve key milestones.
  • Monitor weekly cost and schedule performance.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, delays, and scope changes in line with UGL procedures.
  • Monitor safety, quality and progress, providing regular updates to the Project Manager and client.
  • Actively seek out continuous improvement opportunities relating to safety, quality and delivery efficiency.

What Makes You the Ideal Candidate?

We're looking for someone with a strong background in tank construction, maintenance, and repair, alongside proven leadership experience in managing medium to large-scale turnarounds. You will also bring:

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification or tertiary qualifications in engineering.
  • A Project Management Diploma (desirable).
  • Senior management experience in brownfield maintenance, turnarounds or project  delivery.
  • Hands-on expertise in tank turnaround operations, including planning, HSEQ practices, and cost management.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, foster collaboration, and drive performance.
  • Strong safety leadership and operational planning abilities.
  • Proficiency in understanding schedules and cost analysis with mitigation strategies.
  • Outstanding problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building skills.
