Saint Ignatius' College Riverview is a Catholic boys' school in the Jesuit tradition. Located on picturesque grounds in Lane Cove, this leading independent school delivers a holistic education for day and boarding students from Years 5 to 12.

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our Executive Leadership team as the Director of Co-Curriculum. As the development of the whole person is a key aspect of a Jesuit Education, participation in the College's Co-Curriculum program forms a central element of the education process at Riverview. The Director of Co-Curriculum, alongside various stakeholders, is responsible for ensuring efficient organisation and implementation of both the sporting and cultural co-curricular programs across both our Senior and Regis Campuses.

The ideal candidate will have leadership experience in either co-curricular, academic or pastoral programs within a school environment, with a demonstrated ability to influence a range of internal and external stakeholders. They will be someone who models ethical practices, sound decision making, supported by their excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. The Director of Co-Curriculum will be able to work collaboratively with a variety of teams, manage projects effectively and plan strategically for both short- and long-term outcomes. They will also cultivate an environment where students develop a sense of belonging, a commitment to others and a desire to become responsible members of the community.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • An understanding of and commitment to the College's Catholic, Jesuit mission
  •  Previous experience in a similar role within a school co-curriculum, pastoral or academic program. ·
  • A commitment to ethical practice and decision-making for all adult and student participants in the co-curriculum program
  • Proven ability to lead and influence a range of stakeholders. ·
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Well-developed administrative and organisational skills, including the ability to work to deadlines and the capability to plan for short-term and longer-term strategic outcomes
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to mediate and resolve matters as they arise. 
  • An understanding of and willingness to work flexible hours as required by the nature of the role and its Executive commitment. 
  • Strong financial acumen. 
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check Check (or be prepared to obtain one prior to commencement) and be committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety, welfare and well-being of children and young people.
