About Us

Canberra Avenue Child care & Kinder is a long-day early learning centre located in Dandenong, providing high-quality education and care for children from infancy to kindergarten. We offer funded three- and four-year-old kindergarten programs and are committed to providing a nurturing, inclusive, and play-based learning environment guided by the National Quality Framework (NQF) and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF).

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our professional teaching team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating high-quality educational programs that foster each child's learning, development, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess play-based learning programs aligned with the VEYLDF and National Quality Standards (NQS).
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all children.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to continuous improvement through reflective practice.
  • Ensure compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, Child Safe Standards, and centre policies.
  • Support and mentor educators and students on placement as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated minimum 1 year experience as an Early Childhood Teacher delivering a high-quality play-based curriculum.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the VEYLDF, National Quality Framework, and Child Safe Standards.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with diverse children and families, including vulnerable communities.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent approved qualification).
  • VIT registration (or ability to obtain).
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma Management certifications.
  • Mandatory Reporting and Child Protection training (or willingness to complete).
  • A current Police Check and Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
