We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and energetic Senior Program Coordinator, Volunteering & Mentoring, to join our team and significantly enhance student life at UQ. This role involves overseeing and contributing to our key enrichment programs, including student mentoring (Get Set/My Student Guide) and student volunteering (Get Involved), as well as other vital initiatives. Primarily based on campus, this position also involves supervising a small team and being highly involved in the day-to-day operations of these dynamic student-facing programs.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead Program Delivery & Team Supervision
- Supervise a team to deliver sustainable, best-practice volunteering and mentoring initiatives, supported by evaluation and planning. This includes collaborating with coordinators to design and deliver training for volunteers, mentors, and staff.
Drive Engagement & Events
- Collaborate with coordinators to plan, manage, and deliver a range of events that promote programs, support student recruitment, and celebrate volunteer contributions.
Foster Strategic Partnerships & Innovation
- Build and maintain strategic internal and external community partnerships to enhance UQ's leadership and expertise in volunteering and mentoring. This also involves overseeing the development and delivery of new projects and program enhancements.
Analyse Performance & Support Operations
- Lead the identification, analysis, and interpretation of program data to inform strategic reporting and drive continuous improvement. Additionally, actively contribute to the team's day-to-day operations while fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
Essential
- A relevant degree and at least three years' experience in the tertiary student experience sector, with a strong understanding of student engagement and employability issues in national and international higher education contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff (prioritising workload, wellbeing, and performance) coupled with highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the capacity to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven strong organisational and project management skills, encompassing the ability to plan, schedule, budget, and prioritise tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and evaluate program outcomes, including analysis and reporting for strategic and program improvement purposes.
- This role requires possession of, or eligibility to obtain, a current Blue Card,
- Familiarity with University information systems and reporting tools (or the ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge).
Desirable
- Experience with volunteer management or mentoring programs.
