About the job

As the Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a critical role in assessing, monitoring, auditing and reporting against cyber security risk across the organisation. You will ensure alignment with the Cyber Security Program (CSP) in line with the South Australian Cyber Security Framework (SACSF), providing governance and assurance that strengthens our security posture.

Working as part of our collaborative Cyber & Resilience team, you will conduct risk assessments, contribute to the Cyber Security Capital Plan, provide expert advice to guide secure technology solutions and support informed business decision making.

About the Person

The ideal candidate will be a cyber security professional who brings experience in governance, risk and compliance, with the technical knowledge and experience to apply this in modern digital environments. You understand threats, controls, frameworks and architecture considerations, and can translate complex security insights into clear, practical guidance.

You enjoy working with diverse stakeholders and are comfortable influencing decisions by explaining risk and recommending improvements. You are analytical and forward-thinking, able to monitor emerging trends, undertake structured assurance activities, and contribute to meaningful maturity uplift. Experience supporting incident response, interpreting vulnerability and threat intelligence, and guiding secure solution design will help you succeed in this role.

Your background may include working across cyber governance, risk assessments, assurance programs, continuous improvement, and exposure to environments such as cloud services, operational technology, SCADA, mobility or enterprise platforms.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.

You will:

  • Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement of cyber security controls across the business.
  • Provide specialist advice for technology risk assessments, solution designs, and change control activities.
  • Undertake cyber security activities against the CSP calendar and report on findings and risks.
  • Contribute to the Cyber Security Capital Plan by identifying opportunities to address technical debt and uplift maturity.
  • Monitor emerging threats and ensure appropriate mitigations are integrated into the cyber environment.
  • Support incident response and reporting in line with corporate cyber security processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to embed governance and assurance practices across digital systems.

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Degree in a related technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and conceptually.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience influencing people at all levels.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining continuous improvement or assurance systems.
  • Knowledge of the South Australian Cyber Security Framework (SACSF) or similar governance models (desirable).
  • Experience leading or governing improvement projects or re-engineering initiatives (desirable).
