PRIMARY DETAIL- Salary Package: From $123,435 to $146,044 Level B (PhD),  p.a, plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading- Appointment Type: Full time, fixed term role for 12 months- Location: Macquarie University, Wallumattagal CampusThe RoleThe School of Humanities at Macquarie University is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow, who will undertake the study of papyri held by the Gale History Museum at Macquarie University. The appointee will have knowledge of the field of papyrology, including the study, cataloguing and conservation of Greek and Coptic papyri. The research fellow will study the collection history of the Macquarie papyri with a view to publication; undertake conservation and cataloguing of the papyri as required; bring online a portal displaying images and metadata on the papyri; and assess the potential for future publication of the Macquarie papyri.About YouYou will be a highly motivated academic with a PhD in papyrology or a related discipline, experience of working with papyri, and knowledge of and understanding of the issues around provenance research. You should have a developing portfolio of publications in high-ranked journals or with prestigious publishers and a record of collaboration in research and public engagement, including with external stakeholders.
