We are seeking a passionate and skilled pastrychef to join our team full-time. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a boutique dessert cafe and cake shop that specialises in handcrafted cakes, creative desserts, and exceptional customer experiences.
Position: Pastrychef, Full Time
Salary: $76,960 per annum
Skills & Experience Required:
● Certificate III in Patisserie or an equivalent formal culinary qualification
● Minimum 1 full-time relevant experience as a pastrychef.
● Strong knowledge of patisserie techniques, flavour combinations, and presentation.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
● Excellent teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
● Passion for creating cakes that bring joy and memorable experiences
Responsibilities:
● Prepare, bake, and decorate a variety of cakes, pastries, and desserts.
● Handcraft cakes with custom shapes, colours, and messages.
● Collaborate with the team to develop new designs and flavour combinations.
● Manage daily kitchen operations to meet customer orders and deadlines.
● Inspect and prepare raw ingredients, including accurate weighing and measuring.
● Mix, knead, cut, mould, and shape doughs and pastries for a wide range of baked goods.
● Prepare pastry fillings, creams, and toppings for specialty items.
● Oversee the baking process: preparation, loading, baking, cooling, and finishing.
● Glaze, ice, and decorate cakes and pastries with creativity and attention to detail.
● Operate and maintain bakery machinery such as mixers, moulders, and cutting equipment.
● Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and presentation.
