Joinery Estimator – Commercial Fit Out (Contract / Casual, $65/hr) Location: Sunbury

About the Role: Are you an experienced joinery estimator (or ex-carpenter / cabinet maker) with a background in commercial fit-outs? Our client, a specialist shop-fitting and fit-out company, is seeking a skilled estimator on a contract / casual basis, paying $65 per hour, to join their Melbourne CBD team.

You will price joinery packages, create accurate take-offs, liaise with architects, contractors and clients, and support projects from tender to award.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, material/labour take-offs and budgets
  • Interpret drawings, plans and specifications
  • Produce and submit tenders/quotations
  • Liaise daily with architects, main contractors, sub-contractors and clients.
  • Monitor cost fluctuations, margins, and supplier pricing trends
  • Schedule works and manage subcontractor engagement once projects are awarded

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in joinery estimating (commercial shop-fitting, office interiors, or fit-out)
  • Strong technical understanding of materials, methods, and joinery systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines
  • Carpentry or Cabinet Making trade qualification is preferred (not essential if strong estimating experience)
  • Must already be based in Melbourne, VIC
  • Full rights to work in Australia
