Are you an educator who is passionate about social justice, workers' rights, and building collective power? The Australian Services Union – Victorian and Tasmanian Authorities & Services Branch is seeking a committed and dynamic Educator (0.5FTE) to join our team and help empower workers across local government, water, energy, and social and community services.

Your Impact

As an Educator, you will:

  • Empower delegates and HSRs to build strong workplace networks and lead collective action.
  • Develop and deliver course material to train delegates and HSRs across our industry coverage and throughout Victoria and Tasmania.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the ASU's training program.
  • Assist in upskilling staff to be involved in delegate and HSR development.
  • Work with branch staff on major ASU campaigns to provide training and education for delegates involved in those campaigns.
  • Ensure compliance with our WorkSafe accountabilities as an accredited training body.

We're seeking someone with:

  • A deep commitment to the union movement and social justice.
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Excellent time management, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training and education in an adult learning environment.
  • Ability to work in a co-operative and consultative manner.
  • A solid, detailed understanding of the OHS Act (or an ability to rapidly acquire the same).
  • A current driver's license and willingness to travel across Victoria and Tasmania from time to time.
