About the role
This position is responsible for supporting the maintenance and improvement of Council and public assets through painting, decorating, and graffiti removal, while undertaking formal training and actively participating in learning opportunities to develop trade skills.
On a daily basis you will:
- Assist with surface preparation, painting, and graffiti removal.
- Mark carparks and road pavements.
- Support other teams during emergencies or wet weather.
- Complete team paperwork and records.
- Help manage costs and suggest improvements.
- Respond to public enquiries positively.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and Council policies.
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement.
- Foster relationships with external partners.
- Maintain health, safety, and inclusion standards.
- Attend and participate in all required training and classes.
About You
This role suits someone eager to learn a trade and contribute to the community.
You will also bring:
- Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence.
- Construction industry "White Card."
- Interest in hands-on learning and personal development.
- Ability to meet physical requirements.
- Teamwork and independent work skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Basic computer and iPad skills.
- Commitment to TAFE studies for a trade certificate.

This is a Term Contract Opportunity
This role will be at Council's Operations Centre based at Rydalmere, with free onsite parking available.
We are offering an attractive remuneration from $54,286 to $59,378 plus 12% superannuation.
