About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Part-time Facilities Officer to join our team. In this role, you will support the day-to-day maintenance and operational needs of the College's buildings and grounds. This includes performing general maintenance, supervising contractors, operating equipment, and carrying out planned maintenance activities to ensure the College facilities are safe, functional, and well-presented.

Key responsibilities:

1. Perform efficient and timely maintenance of College buildings and grounds.
2. Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency in grounds and maintenance operations.
3. Assist with asset management processes (experience preferred but not essential).
4. Participate in compliance procedures and proactively manage maintenance tasks.
5. Undertake manual labour, including heavy lifting, furniture relocation, lawn mowing, weeding, and rubbish removal.
6. Maintain and install automated irrigation systems and other technologies to improve operational efficiency.
7. Participate in Work Health and Safety (WHS) training and promote a safe working environment.
8. Ensure the overall cleanliness and presentation of college grounds.

Personal Skills and Abilities

• Basic knowledge of building services, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Formal training in groundskeeping or landscaping (highly regarded not essential)
• Strong understanding of Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must hold or eligible to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC)
