Parkinson Sharefarming Pty Ltd is a family- owned dairy farming business based at Kirkstall and Ballangeich in South West Victoria. A position has come up as a Senior Dairy Cattle Farm Worker at Ballangeich.

Responsibilities include:

  • report directly to manager
  • daily milking routines, dairy hygiene and milk quality management
  • operation, monitoring and basic maintenance of milking plant and equipment
  • prioritising herd health and wellbeing, identifying and treating common health issues
  • general livestock handling and herding
  • paddock and pasture management under the manager's guidelines
  • operate and maintain various farm machinery
  • monitoring and maintenance of general farming infrastructure, such as water and fencing
  • operate, maintain and evaluate computerised records
  • at times, supervise and train junior/new staff members
  • understanding the farm as a whole, within the business and the wider industry
  • understand, perform and monitor safe working principles
  • assist manager in identifying issues and creating solutions with regards to day-to-day farm management

Salary: $75,000-$82,000 pa + super, depending on skills and experience. Accommodation may be available.

Applicant must have an Australian driver's license. Applicants without work rights in Australia or less than three years of recent dairy farming experience need not apply.
