$28–$35 per hour (casual loading included, commensurate with experience)

About the role

SunCheck Skin Cancer Care is a busy, high-performing skin cancer clinic in Port Macquarie, NSW. We are known for our strong clinical standards, patient-centred care, and supportive team culture.

We are seeking a casual Medical Receptionist to work regular, consistent weekly hours in a fast-paced, procedural medical environment.

This role is ideal for someone who values structure, reliability, and professionalism, and who is comfortable working reduced hours during NSW school holiday periods.

Your responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome patients, managing the reception and waiting areas in a calm, professional, and friendly manner
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, including follow-ups and procedure bookings
  • Manage confidential patient records and medical documentation with a high level of accuracy and discretion
  • Liaise closely with doctors, nurses, and external providers to support coordinated patient care
  • Manage incoming phone calls and patient enquiries efficiently and courteously
  • Perform general administrative duties including data entry and filing
  • Manage competing priorities during peak clinic times while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
  • Contribute to a welcoming, calm environment for patients and a structured, supportive workplace for colleagues

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience as a medical or dental receptionist, or in a similar customer-service-focused role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging patients from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with a proven attention to detail
  • Experience with medical software (Best Practice preferred)
  • Training will be provided for medical software systems for candidates with the right attitude and aptitude
  • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and accountability in previous roles
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and committed to continuous improvement
  • Seeking a casual role with regular weekly hours
  • Comfortable with reduced hours during NSW school holiday periods
