About the role:

Western Health is currently applications for a part-time, permanent Clinical Support Midwife (CSM).

This role presents an exciting opportunity to provide high-level clinical support and plays a crucial role in supporting, educating, and mentoring midwives and student midwives within clinical settings. The CSM bridges the gap between theoretical learning and practical application, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality maternity care.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical support and mentorship to midwifery staff, focusing on skill development.
  • Role model best practice and ensure adherence to Western Health policies.
  • Monitor and give feedback on midwives' progress and performance.
  • Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and education coordinators.

About you:

  • Registered Midwife with minimum 3 years acute clinical experience.
  • Strong clinical skills, including venepuncture, IV cannulation, and newborn examination.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
