About the Opportunity

Uniting Ella Early Learning Haberfieldhas supported families in our community for over 30 years, with education and childcare, including a preschool program. We are open long hours for children from birth to five years. Within our historic federation house and beautiful grounds in a quiet residential street, our service offers warm and welcoming indoor learning spaces and stimulating outdoor environments designed to inspire and engage. We value every child as an individual with a unique personality, interests and needs, so we can best help them to unlock and achieve their potential while enjoying their time in our care.

We are currently seeking a versatile Cook who can also support the team as an Educator. This is a permanent part-time role offering the unique opportunity to combine your love of cooking with meaningful time in the classroom.

What you'll be doing

As our Cook, you will:

• Plan and prepare fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 0–5
• Cater to allergies and dietary needs while following food safety and hygiene guidelines
• Manage kitchen stock, ordering, and food preparation schedules

As an Educator (when required), you will:

• Step in to support the team during peak times, leave coverage, or special activities
• Build positive relationships with children and families
• Contribute to creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment

Who we're looking for

• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (Essential)
• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education (Desirable)
• Experience in preparing meals in an early learning or similar setting
• A flexible, can-do attitude and willingness to support across roles
