We're proud to be delivering the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP), and we're looking for the best people to help make it happen.
QTMP involves the design, manufacture and maintenance of 65 new six-car passenger trains to support Cross River Rail and the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games. These trains will be built at a new, purpose-built facility in Torbanlea on the Fraser Coast.

The role at a glanceIn this role, you will be responsible for the precision assembly of key railcar components, contributing directly to the production of world-class rollingstock. Please note this role is located in Torbanlea, Queensland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out fabrication and assembly of major railcar structures including underframes, side walls, roofs, carbodies, and bogie frames.
- Operate materials handling equipment safely and efficiently to support fabrication tasks.
- Follow detailed work instructions and engineering drawings to ensure high-quality, compliant assembly.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and industry best practices
Ability to perform fabrication tasks including forming, bending, and shaping of metal components
Proficient in welding techniques including:
Manual Metal Arc (MMA)
Gas Metal Arc (GMAW/MIG)
Gas Tungsten Arc (GTAW/TIG)
Manual production welding
Skilled in advanced and automated thermal cutting, gouging, and shaping
Ability to perform welds to code standards using flux-cored arc welding (FCAW)
