About Porter Plant

Porter Plant, a trusted leader in the Plant and Equipment Hire industry, is hiring We're looking for an experienced Account and Territory Sales Manager to continue expanding our presence and impact in North Eastern Victoria.

The Role

As the Account and Territory Sales Manager, you will manage existing accounts and identify new accounts through your business development activity and networks. There is an expectation of strengthening relationships and negotiating both long and short term dry hire opportunities with new and existing clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management: Ability to strengthen existing relationships with the skill to know how to secure and expand our share of wallet.
  • Business Development: Have the hunger and proven track record to know how to hunt and secure both long and medium term hire opportunities within your territory. A proven record of implementing business development strategies to create new plant hire opportunities and solutions with new customers
  • CRM: Previous use of a CRM system and diligence to enter information regarding Customer Visits, Business Development and Pipeline of work.
  • Asset Knowledge: Have an understanding of Road Maintenance and Civil equipment abilities and specifications
  • Communication: Coordinate with internal & external stakeholders for seamless operations.

What You'll Need

  • Ability to negotiate and price new hire opportunities and tenders, execute and manage the deliverables of the hire agreement
  • A proven record of implementing business development strategies to create new plant hire opportunities and solutions with new customers
  • A high level of professionalism, energy and attention to detail
  • A current valid car license
  • A good listener. Observes, engages and presents solutions.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Have a reasonably strong mechanical and technical understanding
