Apprentice - Heavy Diesel Mechanic

Embark on a rewarding journey with Cleanaway Northgate, QLD, as we seek a 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice to play a vital role in maintaining heavy vehicles in accordance with relevant transport legislation and standards. This is a permanent, full-time position with competitive pay rates. A toolkit will be provided and all necessary training, including the provision of a Heavy Rigid license.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist in maintaining road vehicles and plant machines to meet legislative standards.
• Participate in scheduled preventative maintenance services.
• Address driver daily vehicle reports (DVR) under supervision and file as required.
• Assist in fault diagnostics for mechanical and electrical issues.
• Support test drives or equipment operations to ensure correct repairs.
• Contribute to ensuring all equipment is safe to use and stored correctly.

Skills And Experience

• Willingness to undertake an apprenticeship – no prior experience required.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute to the maintenance of heavy and light vehicles.
• Ability to work under supervision and as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to safety.
