About the Role

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Helpers to join our Home and Community Care team. In this role, you'll provide direct, person-centred care to our members, supporting them to live independently and with dignity in their own homes.

You will work under the direction of a Registered or Enrolled Nurse and play an important role in maintaining a safe, positive, and caring environment for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver holistic, person-centred care as directed by the nursing team and Clinical Manager.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for members.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and care records.
  • Foster positive communication with members, families, and colleagues.
  • Follow all organisational policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Promote a safe and respectful workplace, reporting hazards and incidents promptly.
  • Adhere to infection control principles and utilise PPE appropriately.
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and uphold confidentiality at all times.
Essential Criteria
  • Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • Current National Police Check.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated empathy and supportive attitude toward members and their families.
  • Awareness of Person-Centred Care principles.
  • Understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Work Health and Safety (WHS), and infection control practices.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
  • Willingness to work within a 7-day service roster.
Desirable Criteria
  • Certificate III in Individual Support - Assist Clients with Medication.
  • Certificate IV in Aged Care.
  • Current unrestricted driver's licence.
  • Awareness of the Aged Care Quality Standards, Quality Improvement processes, and Home and Community Support programs.

  • A six-month probation period applies, with performance reviews at 3 and 5 months, then annually.
  • All employees are expected to uphold professional standards, maintain confidentiality, and promote a culture of safety and respect.
