Millers Point, New South Wales, Australia BG&E Full time
  • Join a successful and growing engineering consulting firm and take ownership of multi-region payroll operations
  • Play a key role in driving accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Enjoy flexible hybrid working, supportive leadership, and career development opportunities

About The Role
Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, this standalone role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of BG&E's payroll function across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Singapore and the Middle East. Based in Sydney and offered on a permanent hybrid basis, you will work closely with the Group Finance Manager and the People & Culture team to deliver accurate, compliant and timely payroll outcomes, supported by trusted external providers in the UK and Singapore.

You will manage end-to-end processing, statutory reporting (including Superannuation, Payroll Tax and PAYG), and payroll journals while maintaining confidential and reliable payroll records. As the key point of contact for payroll queries, you will provide advice to employees and managers, ensure policies and procedures remain current, and uphold compliance with local and international employment laws. Beyond the operational work, you will play a key role in streamlining systems and processes, strengthening controls and contributing to HR and finance projects that enhance efficiency and employee experience across the business.

What You'll Bring
You are someone who knows payroll inside and out, from systems and spreadsheets to the finer details of employment legislation. You bring hands on experience managing payroll across a multi-site organisation and take pride in getting the details right.

Confidence with Excel is second nature, and if you have worked with Employment Hero, that is a real plus (though not essential). Experience in a professional services environment is highly valued, but what matters most is your commitment to accuracy, reliability and continuous improvement. You are curious, adaptable and enjoy finding smarter ways to do things. Above all, you are a trusted professional who values accuracy, confidentiality and clear communication.
