Job Description
We're seeking two experienced Lead IT Architects to drive delivery across a Whole-of-Government AI platform—GovAI.

This high-impact role will see you lead technical architecture, delivery, and capability uplift to enable safe, responsible AI adoption across the APS. You'll work across Microsoft Azure, M365, and AI-aligned platforms, guiding internal teams and stakeholders in a secure, ethical delivery environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Architect and implement secure, scalable cloud and AI-enabled services
  • Deliver projects aligned to responsible AI and data security standards (e.g., ISM, IRAP)
  • Support multi-agency collaboration on AI use cases
  • Lead technical risk management, design documentation, and operationalisation
  • Mentor team members, uplift capability, and ensure smooth knowledge transfer
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in technical delivery across Azure and M365
  • Understanding of AI policy, ethics, and implementation in government contexts
  • Familiarity with ISM, IRAP, and secure design principles
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to obtain NV1 clearance
  • Must be Canberra-based or willing to relocate
