About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Paediatric Orthopaedic Physiotherapist to join our Paediatric team in a fixed-term, part-time position (0.4EFT) until August 2026.

In this Grade 3 Physiotherapy position, you will work with our outpatient physiotherapy Paediatric Orthopaedic team at Joan Kirner Women's and Children's Hospital. You will provide direct care to patients and families for a variety of Orthopaedic conditions which may include post-surgery, post injury, brachial plexus palsy, congenital joint conditions or gait concerns. Extensive experience managing complex paediatric orthopaedic presentations is essential. Additional experience or training in Paediatric Orthopaedics is high desired. For the right candidate, there may be opportunities for exposure to Advanced Practice.

Working in this position you will use your clinical expertise and evidence-based practice to deliver Best Care. The successful candidate with have exceptional communication and organisational skills. You will need to work autonomously, as well as collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.

This is a well-supported position and provides you with the opportunity to develop your clinical, leadership, and supervision skills; joining a team that is dedicated to excellent outcomes for the child, family-centred and evidence-based practice. You will also contribute to the leadership of the paediatric orthopaedic physiotherapy team and support the development of Grade 1 and 2 physiotherapists.

Professional development is widely available in our team with both internal and external opportunities. Grade 3 Physiotherapists at Western Health participate in Research and Quality Improvement as well as Education and Training programs within the Physiotherapy service.

Essential
To be Successful in this Role you will:

  • Have significant clinical experience in the assessment and management of complex paediatric orthopaedic conditions across the continuum of care
  • At least 7 years of Paediatric physiotherapy clinical experience with a minimum of 5 years clinical experience with a specific interest in paediatric Orthopaedic care.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have high level organisational skills
  • Work collaboratively with the Physiotherapy, Paediatric Orthopaedic, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ensure safe and high-quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and policies
  • Contribute to a culture that values ongoing learning and be part of a positive workplace

Desirable

  • Previous experience or additional training in Paediatric Orthopaedic Advanced Practice an advantage.
  • Post graduate qualification or training relating to paediatric physiotherapy.
  • Completion of Specialist Certificate of Paediatric Orthopaedics or Ponseti postgraduate training
