
Policy and Coordination Officer

The Policy and Coordination Officer role, requires strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including the capacity to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the OoS, solve problems, and apply diplomacy and discretion.
Supervised by the OoS Strategic Advisor, duties will involve:
- Using DE systems to manage and coordinate the record and allocation of the Secretary's briefings, correspondence, meeting briefs and speech requests, and monitor timely responses.
- Effectively identifying, developing and managing office processes as they emerge and change.
- Deliver quality, timely and effective customer service to staff at all levels and promote and develop key relationships and linkages within and outside the department.
- Assisting the OoS in the coordination of requests and deadlines for Executive Board meetings and other key forums.
- Assisting the OoS in the quality assurance of briefings and correspondence, and communicating the Departmental and OoS preferences, standards and processes clearly to stakeholders.
- Preparing reporting and other information to support key functions of the OoS.
This is a Full Time, ongoing VPS 4 role
Attributes
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Excellent attention to detail and time management with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- Highly proficient in a range of IN platforms and applications including Microsoft Office, Adobe Professional, and SharePoint.
- The ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- A drive and capability to provide high quality support to the Secretary, the OoS team and the many and varied stakeholders across the department.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable Quaifications and Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a related discipline
- Previous experience with Ministerial correspondence and briefings, and cabinet submissions is an advantage
