The Opportunity
CARE Australia (part of CARE International) is an international aid organisation working to defeat global poverty by supporting women and girls to create lasting change in their communities around the world.
In this role as a Project Finance Lead, you will play a pivotal part in shaping CARE Australia's financial strategy and driving excellence across our programs. As a senior leader within the Finance Leadership Team, you'll guide a high-performing Project Finance team, championing best practices in governance, donor compliance, and financial stewardship. You'll oversee project funding to ensure maximum impact and value for money, while acting as a trusted partner to our International Programs team, Country Offices, external stakeholders, and the wider CARE confederation. This is your opportunity to lead with purpose, influence global outcomes, and ensure every dollar delivers meaningful change.
To secure this opportunity ideally you will:
- Have a strong understanding of INGO donor contract management, compliance frameworks, and project-based accounting practices in an international development context
- Bring energy, vision, and people skills to lead teams, meet strategic goals, and drive meaningful change
- Have managed project finances in an organisation of similar scale and are recognised for delivering excellent internal service.
- Have the ability to turn complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders and non-finance audiences.
